Gratitude was going to be the title, but it morphed into grace.
Because I am feeling grateful in the midst of grace this evening.
It is far too easy to look at what we don't have instead of what we do. To live in fear of what might happen instead of embracing the goodness in our midst in the present moment. To forget all the good in the face of potential bad.
Today, I sit in a quiet pocket of peace in the midst of storms around me.
And I am ... quite simply... grateful. Though perhaps I shouldn't say simply. I sit AMAZINGLY in the midst of GRACE.
Last evening, I was invited to dinner with a delightful woman who I am blessed to call my friend. We live our lives in what many might deem different worlds - yet we are neighbors. We sat together as two women working our way through a complicated world. Discussing politics, enjoying delicious nibbles, while taking in a most glorious sunset.
She'd cued up Judy Collins music. Reminiscent of an earlier time. And in a break in the conversation, as the sun looked like this...
the song Amazing Grace played.
So I conclude with the following:
You are amazing.
