One week left. The finish line is in sight.
I'm a terrific starter. Not always a great finisher. It's... the discipline thing (see yesterday's blog.) But I've been working on it.
My home right now is FULL of unfinished projects. I used to blame it on the creative thing. I get excited, get started, and then... grow bored.
So my new discipline, added to the other ones mentioned yesterday, is to finish what I start. And that is going to mean finishing a lot of things sitting around the house for the past weeks/months/years. First will be a decision. Do I take it on as a task to complete, or get rid of it? Then once decided, FOCUS, and see it through.
Today, it was the wall in my bedroom. Started to paint it a different color about six weeks ago, then got sidetracked. This afternoon (notice Dora the cat offering to help) - VOILA! It only took about two hours. And it looks sooooooo beautiful. And tonight I get to go to sleep looking at it, and in the morning be surprised by it when I open my eyes.
It's not a terrible thing, to have some unfinished projects laying around. Until it gets in the way of doing other things, or new things, that really do need to take priority. Sometimes it can become overwhelming.
What creative tasks call to you? Which ones will you decide to work on... and which ones would it be best for you to let go of? This will be on of the challenges taken on in my new class, announced yesterday - PLAYFUL FAITH. Take a look if you missed it.
Love and hugs and I already know what I want to write about tomorrow but I won't start it... not yet! LOL.
