In one word, the most difficult thing to do, and the absolute easiest.
To some it may sound like a sign of weakness. "I give up." Implies giving in. Losing. Consider, instead, what it means to surrender to one in whom we have ultimate trust. What a delightful relief. Yep. You who know me know where I'm going with this. I surrender... all... to God. When I spend too much time trying to 'figure out' what I'm supposed to do with my life, I need to... surrender. When I feel overwhelmed by choices. I need to ... surrender. When I'm scared, I need to ... surrender. The human ego wants to do anything but. Because we think we can 'figure out' the answer to each and every one of our challenges and questions. The heck with that old saying, "God is my Co-Pilot." I am more than happy to give up the driver's seat and invite God to be The Pilot of my life! I surrender... to God. And there is... peace. Yes. I'll accept that. Nite nite. Mimi PS - Call this one a lullaby if you are listening to it at night. Or simply a peaceful reminder any time of day.

Surrendering is the bravest thing you will ever do. It requires an enormous amount of trust, faith and hope. And it requires very uncomfortable level of vulnerability, a willingness to say "Your will..not mine". It is something we have to do every day of our lives, over and over and over again. It requires intentionality and discipline. But it is so worth it! Peace beyond understanding! Leave a Reply. |
