Day 27 - So many ideas...

PictureHere is a little glimpse of last night's sail. Moonlight over the water.
Yesterday I felt uninspired and wrote that quick note about going sailing.

Today, I have so many ideas for blog posts that I'm not sure where to start.

All inspiration from interactions with others today, in no particular order.

Here is a list of the prompts.  Remind me, please, when I am at a loss next time!

1) overwhelm
2) priorities
3) flexibility
4) forgiveness
5) atheists
6) loneliness
7) yearning
8) experiment
9) touch
10) Pringles (yes, the potato chips)
11) Mad Man Moon (it's a song)
12) proud mama

I wonder if I can get it to 20?!

13) revisiting the easel
14) writing versus typing
15) the myth of planning
16) growing up
17) growing old (distinctly different than growing up)
18) random encounters
19) just one
20) and last but not least - coming out

So I guess I haven't really written anything - just a series of writing prompts for another time.  Though maybe the lesson is that the prompts are all around us.  And show up in our lives.  It's why I don't really believe in writers' block.  That's just an excuse for fatigue, or lack of enthusiasm.  There is ALWAYS something to write about!

Tonight - rather than pick one.  I want to share with you a short story.  Something from my day.

Every morning I make a list.  Plan my day.  Working sometimes up to 5 different jobs/careers in any given days I HAVE to sketch in time for all of it.

By 10:30am this morning, my plan was upside down and backwards, not of my own doing, but some interference from others who had failed to plan wisely and it ended up in my lap to clean it up.  I grumbled.  Cut short my swim.  And messed up my plan for gallery hours.  But I knew in my heart it was the right thing to do, to help make it right.  I anticipated crazy traffic jams (Falmouth Road Race weekend), no parking spaces, crowded grocery stores.  All the worst.

Instead it was like a pathway opened before me.  Easy parking.  Easy shopping.  And believe it or not NO line at Dairy Queen (my after work treat to myself - and no line NEVER happens there!).

Some might call it flow.  I prefer to think of it as God making smooth our path when we put our own needs aside and offer our time in service to someone else.

No - it doesn't ALWAYS go that way.  But today, it did.  And I was amazed.

All I know is that in hindsight I was sorry to have wasted the energy I did on frustration, impatience, and, yes, anger with the persons who messed up my plan.

Just sayin.  And yes, please feel free to remind me the next time when I forget!

Nite nite.

Sometimes, being spontaneous is better than planning everything. I guess, you need to be lenient towards yourself and make sure that you are still living a life the right way. But that doesn’t mean that you need to plan everything. For you to live a happier life, you must have days wherein you don’t know what you will do because you did not plan for it. There should always be an excitement on your part because I am pretty sure that you can do it! Trust me, that’s a good idea.
