Day 71 - bonus day

Thought it was supposed to be cloudy for another two days.  

This morning I was fully prepared to tie myself to my desk and be productive.  

Then the sun came out.

Now, before you yell at me for a lousy work ethic, please understand I had writing to do.  It was a great excuse, anyway.

I had already worked at my desk a while, and spent two hours in the gallery painting.  Just happened to have my bathing suit and a towel in the back seat.  Sooooooo...

I did it.  Put on the bathing suit, and went to the beach.  Not for a long time.  Just enough time.  And yes - I went in.  And double yes - it WAS cold.  But oh so wonderful.  

Because I thought it was over.  Today's dip was what I call "bonus time."  An unanticipated gift, oh so gratefully received.

I'm thinking this should go somewhere lofty, but it's not.  It just is what it is.  Celebration of a day well spent.

I will work tonight at my desk to make up for the time, because yes, that matters, too.  And there is plenty here to keep me busy.

But honestly - this winter - I will remember today's swim WAY more than I will remember what work I accomplished today.  Call me the creative indulgent - filling the well for new creative pursuits.
