![]() We pray. We hope for a miracle. Then in our doubt and fear we go straight to negative expectancy. Why do we do this? I suppose it is part of being human. Some might call it common sense. I know personally it happens when I choose to focus on pure logic rather than trusting God. And when I am tired. Nothing puts me into a place of doubting and not trusting more than a bad night's sleep. Now, that's not to say there is anything intrinsically wrong with using common sense. Or in drawing on logic, research, and the experiences of others. And the reality is that like it or not we are indeed human. But if we are going to pray fervently for a better outcome than any of those devices bring us to then we need to allow space for God to act in the midst of our fear and logic and common sense. Trust God. Believe in miracles. And here's a tune to remind you and perhaps make you smile in my choice. I Need A Miracle. (note my fave Bruce Hornsby on keyboard!)
